Augsburg and Jan Morávek surprisingly beat Bayern

Bayern Munich unexpectedly lost 1:2 to Augsburg in the 12th round of the Bundesliga on Friday night. The visitors suffered their second league defeat of the season. Czech midfielder Jan Morávek was on the pitch from the 74th minute.

Bayern were missing Süle and Stanišić, who tested positive for coronavirus, and Joshua Kimmich, who was not vaccinated, was quarantined. Kingsley Coman was not allowed to play either.

The visitors made uncharacteristic mistakes in the pre-final phase, passes were inaccurate, balls bounced off the crossbar and Augsburg’s defensive block could not be overcome.

The home side moved up to 15th in the table, last above the line, with the win. If second-placed Dortmund beat struggling Stuttgart at home on Saturday, they will move within one point of Bayern.
