Arsenal have signed two new players, the talented Ödegaard from Real Madrid and the young Englishman Ramsdale from Sheffield United. Arsenal spent over £50 million on these players.

Martin Ödegaard, formerly of Real Madrid, has already been at Arsenal. He spent last season here on loan. The current Norwegian captain was one of the players Arsenal were very interested in.

In the end, he and Real agreed on a price of £30 million plus £4 million in potential bonuses. James Maddison from Leicester was another alternative for Arsenal, but here the price tag was much higher.

As for the price, Arsenal got a very good player for a not very big amount of money who is only 22 years old. Ödegaard has already passed a medical. All that’s left is the visa. He probably won’t be registered for Sunday’s game against Chelsea yet, but hopefully he could start next week without any problems.

Ödegaard played 20 games for Arsenal on loan and scored two goals. His goal in the Europa League against Olympiakos was really great. He shot from distance and the goalkeeper couldn’t catch the hard shot under the crossbar. Since he already knows his teammates and has played with them, he should adapt very quickly. A few practices with his new teammates and he’ll break into the starting lineup.

Odegaard most often plays in the number 10 position, which is the position Emile Smith-Rowe plays in at Arsenal. We’ll see if they compete with each other for that spot or if one of them will play on the wing.

Aaron Ramsdale is coming to Arsenal for the sum of £24 million, another £6 million can be earned by Sheffield in bonuses. Ramsdale won Sheffield’s player of the season award last season and also took part in the European Championships, but only worked as a substitute goalkeeper.

Germany’s Bernd Leno is expected to remain Arsenal’s number one. Ramsdale will cover his back, but Arsenal are counting on him as number one in the future. He only turned 23 this year, so he has plenty of time ahead of him.

Arteta himself, the Arsenal coach, has his eye on this goalkeeper. He presented him to the scouts and the rest of the management. They all agreed with him. The fact that the player is young and from England plays a big part.

Arsenal signed three other players before these transfers. They are central defender Ben White, left-back Tavares and central midfielder Lokonga. In total, Arsenal spent over £130 million on the transfers. As far as dream signings go, it’s not over yet. Coach Arteta would still like a new right-back and a striker.

However, Arsenal need to sell some players before making any more signings. He has offered several for sale, but the interest is minimal. Let’s see if Arsenal will sell someone and then sign someone else. There are still a few days left in the transfer market.
