Antonín Barák is still in great shooting form. At the weekend, he was again among the top scorers in the match against Udinese and with his ninth goal of the season he was among the best midfielders in the Top 5 leagues.
Antonín Barák is having another successful season for Verona, improving his goalscoring record from last season.
Of the midfielders in the top 5 leagues, only Christopher Nkunku has scored more goals. The 24-year-old player of Bundesliga side RB Leipzig has 11 accurate shots in 22 games. He transferred to Leipzig in 2019 from French side PSG and his previous season high was 6 goals last year.
Barak scored seven times last season and now has two more goals. His 9 goals even means he has become only the third midfielder in the club’s history to do so in a single season.
He is also the club’s second top scorer this season. The first is Argentine striker Giovanni Simeone with 12 accurate shots.
Another striker Gianluca Caprari has the same number of goals as the Czech midfielder.
Coach Tudor also praises the play of his offensive players. He commented for the club website after the 4-0 league win over Udinese. “I’m happy for everyone who scored. I know I have a very good squad at my disposal. We got three valuable points and they give us the necessary confidence before the next game in Rome and the rest of the season.
The performance of the Czech international has not escaped those interested in his services. In the winter transfer window, there was speculation about the interest of Premier League clubs. Even a club that values its player at a minimum of €20 million would not be opposed to a transfer.
However, the likely transfer will not come until the summer. Let’s see if Antonin can maintain his form and increase his chances of a transfer.
Czech fans would certainly like him to do well in the upcoming World Cup barrage in Qatar, which awaits our national team on March 24 in Sweden.
