Another superstar in the Premier League? Clubs monitor situation around Bayern Munich player
From the new season onwards, we could be seeing the new face of English football at Premier League stadiums. Liverpool and Manchester United have set their sights on Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry, who is out of contract with the Bavarian giant in June 2023 and is reluctant to sign a new one.
From the new season onwards, we could be seeing the new face of English football at Premier League stadiums. Liverpool and Manchester United have set their sights on Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry, who is out of contract with the Bavarian giant in June 2023 and is reluctant to sign a new one.
It is more than five years since the talented German left North London Arsenal to try his footballing luck in his homeland.
And the bet on change has paid off. After all, he’s only made 18 starts and scored one goal in a jersey with a cannon on his chest. After a one-year stint at Werder Bremen, the Stuttgart native was acquired by the famous Bayern Munich, who sent him to Hoffenheim for an “experience”.
In the jersey of the Bavarian big club, Gnabry has started his career and has become one of the best players on the European continent. At 26, he is at the peak of his career and it is no wonder he is looking for more challenges.
The German international’s contract with the current Bundesliga leaders does not expire for another year and a half, in June 2023, but Bayern’s management wants to sign a new deal with the player as soon as possible. However, negotiations between the player and the club have not struck a common note.
The main point of contention is the player’s improved salary, which is estimated at £280k per week, more than double the current weekly salary (£115k). The author of 63 league goals and 36 assists has attracted interest from Premier League clubs who have no problems with similar sums.
Talksport reports that Liverpool and Manchester United are interested, but Real Madrid are also monitoring the situation. However, Arsenal could also enter the game, from which the player left in August 2016 to Werder Bremen.
