This weekend is a very pleasant one for a Czech fan. On Saturday, 18-year-old Lukáš Ambros made his debut for Wolfsburg as the youngest Czech in the history of the Bundesliga, and on Sunday another Czech youngster, Lukáš Vorlický, made his first start for Atalanta.
Ambros started for 17 minutes on Saturday, and another Czech made his debut on Sunday. In the Italian Serie A, Atalanta welcomed Lecce and the match did not go well at all.
Assan Ceesay opened the scoring for the visitors in the fourth minute. In the 74th minute, Lecce increased their lead to 2:0 thanks to Alexis Blina.
Gan Piero Gasperini couldn’t take it anymore and had to make two substitutions. In addition to Palomino, he sent on the number 23.
This is the Czech youngster Lukas Vorlicky. For the 21-year-old, this is his first start for Atalanta’s A-team, and he has been coming off the bench with the team quite regularly in recent games.
He was also helped to make his debut by Atalanta’s large squad. Gasperini is missing Hateboer, Muratore, Pashalic and Zapata, while De Roon and Scalvini were also absent due to card penalties.
Atalanta only managed to reduce the score to 1: 2 after his arrival, but they didn’t add another goal and had to endure the defeat.
Vorlicky transferred to Atalanta in 2018 from Zbrojovka Brno. So far this season he scored 3 goals in 10 games.
