Former Bohemians 1905 midfielder Jan Vodháněl has made a successful debut in the Austrian Bundesliga for Admira Mödling. He helped his team to a 1-1 draw at the home ground of Hartberg.

Vodháněl did not play a championship match for almost a year after he wanted to force a transfer from the Vršovice club and refused to sign a new contract. The Kangaroos rejected his transfer to the MLS, then Vodháněl’s courtship with Viktoria Plzen failed.

Then came the injury, the return to the green and white jersey did not take place, because he did not receive confidence and was eliminated from the first team. His contract with Admira only started after the end of his contract with Bohemians, which expired in January this year.

The Czech midfielder’s long wait ended at the start of the spring season in the Austrian Bundesliga. Vodháněl sent his team into the lead in the 44th minute when he managed to hit the wall from a direct kick.

However, the visitors responded to his goal and equalised in the 63rd minute. The fans did not see another goal in the match. Hartberg drew 1-1 with Admira. Vodhanel also picked up a yellow card.
