AC Milan took on PSG in the third round of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday evening. The Rossoneri were defeated 0:3 by the Parisians. They failed to score for the fifth match in a row and recorded a negative record.

AC Milan did not score a goal against the Parisians in the last round of the Champions League group stage. However, they scored three goals and lost 0:3 to the French side.

The Rossoneri have thus dropped to last place in Group F. In their three matches so far, they have only earned two points, thanks to goalless draws against Newcastle and Dortmund.

Especially the match against the English club is a big loss for Stefano Pioli’s charges. They did, in fact, create many opportunities at home against Newcastle that were goal-scoring. However, none of them ended up in the net.

It should be noted, the Milan coach has been heavily criticised by fans in recent weeks. The reason for this is the woeful playing performance, the inability to take advantage of the quality of the new reinforcements or the repetitive strategy. The opponents, and not only in the Champions League group, have long since read it.

So what next? Not only do the men in red and black jerseys sit in last place in Group F with just two points, but that dreaded 0 also shines through in the scoreline.

AC Milan set a negative record

Pioli’s charges, however, have a much bigger problem. This is because they didn’t start this black streak without scoring a goal until the regular Group F, but even earlier. Specifically, in last season’s Champions League semi-final against Inter.

In doing so, they set an infamous record by becoming the first Italian side in history to fail to score in five consecutive Champions League matches.

They failed to score a goal in a double-header against their city rivals, a trend that continues to this day. Inter went through to the final after 0:2 and 0:1 results, but fell short to Manchester City, to whom they lost 0:1.

AC Milan are doing much better in the domestic competition. They are currently second in the league table with 21 points, having scored 16 goals in nine games. They are one point behind the leaders Inter, while Juventus are one point behind the third-placed team due to their recent 0:1 defeat.
