A turnaround in the whole case? Moukoko will reportedly sign a contract at Dortmund after all
That’s quite a twist. Borussia Dortmund’s 18-year-old sensation Youssouf Moukok’s contract expires in June and he didn’t want to sign a new one, so it seemed he would leave for free in the summer. In the end, however, he should stay in the black and yellow colours.
That’s quite a twist. Borussia Dortmund’s 18-year-old sensation Youssouf Moukok’s contract expires in June and he didn’t want to sign a new one, so it seemed he would leave for free in the summer. In the end, however, he should stay in the black and yellow colours.
Moukoko is a natural phenomenon. He burst into the Bundesliga at the age of 16 and has broken just about every possible record to do with age, whether at Dortmund or in the league as a whole.
He scored 3 goals in his first season and then scored twice. After Haaland left, he was given a bigger role in the team and it shows in the stats. In 14 Bundesliga games he scored 6 goals and added 3 assists.
Dortmund are happy with his growth, but there is a hitch. Moukok’s contract expires in June and the two sides could not agree on an extension. Speculation began that Moukoko was demanding a salary of €10 million per year, but this was immediately brushed off by the player’s side as not being based on truth.
Nevertheless, German Sky Sport reports that BVB’s offer and the player’s demands were far apart at the start of the year. Thus, it appeared that Moukoko would leave for free in the summer. There was a lot of interest from the likes of Barcelona or, traditionally, Bayern Munich, who like to lurk for BVB talent.
But at the moment, according to Sky Sport, there should be a breakthrough between the two sides and an extension for the German international is very close. The current negotiations at the training camp in Marbella should have brought Moukok a lot closer to staying at Dortmund.
the 18-year-old striker is expected to sign a four-year contract, earning €3 million per year. With bonuses, the amount could rise to €5 million. Furthermore, the young footballer should receive a signing bonus of €10 million.
The deal is not yet final, there are still a few details to be finalized. But the confidence in Moukok’s continuation is said to have risen significantly in the Signal Iduna Park offices.
