A rematch with Woodley? Jake Paul explains why it won’t happen again
At the end of August, celebrity boxing fans could see a fight between YouTuber Jake Paul and MMA fighter Tyron Woodley. The two had agreed to a rematch under certain conditions, but Woodley did not meet Paul’s conditions, so the rematch will not happen.
At the end of August, celebrity boxing fans could see a fight between YouTuber Jake Paul and MMA fighter Tyron Woodley. The two had agreed to a rematch under certain conditions, but Woodley did not meet Paul’s conditions, so the rematch will not happen.
At the end of August, Jake Paul took on Tyron Woodley and the popular YouTuber was the winner. However, both agreed to a rematch under certain conditions.
The loser, Woodley, wanted the fight to be tattooed on his body with the words “I love Jake Paul”. Paul subsequently said the tattoo had to be in a place where he could be seen.
And it can’t be too small to read. Woodley wasn’t too keen on it, though, so we’ll most likely never see their rematch.
“Woodley was fiddling with everything. He knew he wasn’t an interesting opponent for me, I beat him, but I still gave him a chance to prove himself. I would have given him a rematch if he had met my condition in any reasonable time. However, he still had some reservations, so I decided to move on without him,” Paul said on his social media.
“Woodley is a five-time UFC champion, I give him credit for his MMA career, but I’m better within boxing. I think a lot of people didn’t even want to see my rematch with him. It’s just Tyron smells money and wants to make something else out of it. He got one chance, he blew it, he didn’t meet the condition for the tattoo, so don’t let him be surprised now, life goes on,” he added.
So Paul will be looking for a replacement, there are certainly a lot of fighters interested in fighting him. This is mainly due to the financial conditions attached to the fight.
