He celebrated his 21st birthday at the end of the season, but his value is already €25 million. Since October, he has also started to play regularly for the England U21 national team.
Cameron Archer
The striker with Jamaican roots jumped into three games for Aston Villa during the first half of the season, then went on loan to Preston.
In the Championship he jumped into 20 games in six months, scoring 7 goals. He’s also burning it up in the Under-21 national team for England, where he scored 4 goals in 4 games in qualifying for the Euros.
Carney Chukwuemeka
At the age of 18, he started picking up his first minutes in the Premier League, specifically he jumped into 12 games and even notched an assist. For Aston Villa U23 he played in 7 games and scored 3+2 stats. It will be interesting to see what plans Steven Gerrard has for the midfielder in the upcoming season.
Louie Barry
He has been destroying youth competitions for Aston Villa for a long time, this was his first season in adult football. He spent half a year at Ipswich, but didn’t get a proper chance and so moved down a league to Swindon Town FC for the spring part of the season.
He scored 6 goals in 16 games in League Two. Next season he could try a loan spell in the Championship.
It’s interesting to see another successful academy emerging in England. As far as other youngsters are concerned, Tim Iroegbunam or Jaden Philogene-Bidace could be mentioned.
