A disgusting situation at Valencia. The whole stadium was screaming at Vinícius that he was a monkey, let him die. The Brazilian was then sent off in a scuffle
There is no end to the disgusting behaviour on the outdoor pitches towards Vinícius. The young Brazilian is constantly the subject of racism and harsh abuse, but this time it has gone beyond all limits.
There is no end to the disgusting behaviour on the outdoor pitches towards Vinícius. The young Brazilian is constantly the subject of racism and harsh abuse, but this time it has gone beyond all limits.
Nine times now, La Liga has filed a complaint against home fans during Real Madrid away games. Each time for the same reason – racism towards Vinícius.
A couple of times the troublemakers have been found and punished, but otherwise nothing happens. No hard change comes and the young Brazilian continues to be the number one enemy of the whole of Spain.
The excuse is often made that Vinícius is a provocateur and deserves the hatred. But that is absolutely not true, the hunt for Vinícius is the first one that starts it all.
Already when the Real Madrid players arrived at the Mestalla stadium, Valencia fans were chanting “Vinícius, eres un mono,” translated as “Vinícius, you are a monkey.” And from the bus, the Brazilian was probably teasing them.
Let’s move on to the pitch, where the disgusting abuse continued. After a few moments to stir the emotions, the whole stadium started chanting “Vinícius, muerete”. The young Brazilian almost had tears in his eyes.
And then came the racism. First individual, then group. One of the fans allegedly yelled at Vinícius for being a monkey and a [bleep]. But the Brazilian saw him, ran to the stands and pointed at him. He brought in the referee, who paused the game and directly found the man who had racially abused him with his finger. But nothing happened.
This set off a group racism in which everyone hides. One Valencia fan even took to the networks to show off a video of a group of home supporters doing monkey chants, followed by one part chanting “Tonto” (Stupid) and the other part “Mono” (Monkey). After a while, he deleted the video.
The whole situation finally culminated in a fight in the 97th minute. The home goalkeeper lunged at Vinícius, and striker Hugo Duro caught him in the tie from behind and slashed him for a few seconds. When Vinícius swung, he hit Duro in the face in the process and saw a red card.
It’s incomprehensible how only Vinícius could see the red card from such a situation when all three players in the altercation should have seen it.
