The investigation is focusing on links between ultras groups and the club’s management. Both officials will testify about their role and knowledge regarding the case.

A tape of a phone call between Marco Ferdico and Inzaghi ahead of the 2023 UEFA Champions League final has emerged during the investigation. Ferdico is the leading face of the Curva Nord ultras.

During the police investigation, Inter and AC Milan have offered full cooperation in an attempt to clear their names. However, the pair’s appearance at the hearing is only the beginning.

Also next on the interrogation list, according to the Sempreinter website, are expected to be former Inter aces Milan Škriniar and Marco Materazzi. Current star Hakan Calhanoglu is another name on the list. But he will probably have to wait for his return from the national break.

Police revealed that the suspects used mafia methods to intimidate and blackmail, which allowed them to control various business activities just around the stadium.

Giovanni Melillo, Italy’s anti-mafia prosecutor, said: “This investigation shows the risks posed by the infiltration of organised crime into professional and non-professional football. We must stop pretending that we do not see these risks.”
