- Kylian Mbappé transferred from PSG to Real Madrid before the season
- The Parisian coach has now admitted it was difficult to watch him leave for Spain
- PSG are expected to pay their former star a €55million fee
Kylian Mbappé has been rocking the Paris Saint-Germain jersey since 2018, when he transferred from Monaco. Back then, the French club’s management paid 180 million euros for him.
And in hindsight, it is clear that Mbappé has paid off his now former team several times over. The Paris native has enjoyed six championship titles with the Parc des Princes club, dominated the national cup four times, and has been the top scorer in Ligue 1 each time.
However, one trophy has eluded Mbappé so far, namely the Champions League winners’ trophy. This was one of the reasons why the 25-year-old forward decided to move to Real.
This transfer saga has dragged on for a long time indeed. Finally, however, Mbappé did indeed make his transfer to the Spanish capital in the summer transfer window. And since his contract was ending at the French giant, he was leaving for free.
Current PSG coach Luis Enrique recently said in an interview with Movistar that it was difficult to follow his move to Spain. This is because it is very difficult to find players with Mbappé’s unique combination of talent and character.
Mbappé? An amazing player and a fantastic person, Enrique is clear
“Kylian Mbappe is an amazing player and a fantastic person. It’s hard to find someone as special as him. He is incredible. It was just a shame that he left to join Real Madrid,” Enrique told Movistar, whose words were also quoted by Madrid Universal.
Enrique also praised his human qualities. The PSG coach is said to have never had a problem with Mbappé on a personal level. “He is kind, just an amazing player,” Enrique added.
