From a raised middle finger to a bizarre parody of an opponent. Medvedev is going to Alcaraz with something to offer beyond tennis

He will face Carlos Alcaraz in Friday’s Wimbledon semifinals. And he’s already got one valuable scalp in the bag. But Daniil Medvedev has entertained audiences with other performances than tennis.

Although he is defending last year’s semi-final at the London Grand Slam, he is going a bit over schedule here. Daniil Medvedev has won one of the most valuable scalps on the ATP circuit.

The Russian tennis player also briefly tried his hand at the world number one position, yet he is currently a bit short of the top. He will have a chance to close this gap in the upcoming semi-finals.

He will face the defending Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard is quite possibly the best player here so far.

The world number three is also the favourite when looking at his matches with Medvedev. Since last year, Alcaraz has won four of their five matches.

But the Moscow native also impresses from time to time with situations other than winning games, sets and matches. Let’s recap some of them.

Medvedev simply entertains

Although in some situations he had a motivation for his actions other than a desire to entertain, quite often it just turned out to be quite entertaining.
