Barcelona is entering a new era. It will be led by coach Hansi Flick in the coming season and there could be a slight change in the squad. There is speculation about some departures and arrivals. Besides, there is a lot of interest in a star who is only 16 years old.
Xavi is gone, Hansi Flick is coming in. It will be interesting to see how Barcelona perform under his leadership. After all, he is used to prescribing a somewhat different style of football than the Catalan giant has in its DNA. However, if combined well, it could be spectacular.
For it to work, however, the club needs to make a few transfer moves. Some smaller, some bigger. One of the possible reinforcements could be Stanislav Lobotka.
The Blaugranas are very interested in one of the stars of this year’s European Championship, Nico Williams, the face of Athletic Bilbao. Only 21 years old, the winger is playing in great form and has a huge potential.
Plus, he might not be that expensive. But for Barcelona to even think about it, they need to sell. In recent days, there has been talk that Raphinha could leave for Saudi Arabia for around €90 million. But he cannot be expected to want to do so himself.
Then there is another option in play. Much more lucrative. For PSG have been pursuing for some time a gem and generational talent from the Catalan big club – Lamine Yamal, the only 16-year-old sensation who, like Williams, is shining at the Euros.
Barcelona rejects the departure of its jewel
Club president Joan Laporta has previously revealed that PSG were offering around €200 million for Yamal, a very astronomical sum. But given how much potential the 16-year-old talent has, it is understandable that Barcelona refused.
And will refuse even higher sums. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giant believes that PSG will make an offer of 250 million euros. But even with that, the Parisian outfit will not come up with a deal.
After all, Yamal has a contract at the club and he does not want to leave. Besides, his contract has a buyout clause set at 1 billion euros. It cannot be expected that anyone would ever be willing to pay such a sum. Yamal is simply not for sale. Not at any price. He will be the face of a new era.
