We are the best club in the world with 48 Champions League titles, Laporta reports. But he also counted the trophies from roller skating

Barcelona’s management is under a lot of pressure. At the regular Socios meeting, club president Joan Laporta has to defend his actions and in the current situation it is not easy. And so Laporta came up with the fact that Barcelona has 48 Champions League titles.
The Champions League is the most prestigious club competition. But it is a bit bitter for Barcelona because they have had to watch the trophy lifted over their heads six times in the last 10 years by Real Madrid, their arch enemy and biggest rival.
The Catalans last won the Champions League in 2015 and have five trophies to their name. Four teams have more titles, Bayern and Liverpool have collected six each, AC Milan have seven and Real Madrid have a record 15 trophies.
That’s why Barcelona president Joan Laporta was so surprised when he gave a slightly different number at the meeting. “Barcelona’s brand is strong. We are the best club in the world, we have 48 Champions League trophies,” Laporta said.
But as it turned out in the end, the Blaugranas president had counted all the trophies from peripheral sports as well. He then added roller hockey for the most trophies.
barcelona’s 48 Champions League titles:
5 men’s football Champions League trophies
3 Women’s Champions League trophies
2 Euroleague basketball trophies
12 handball Champions League trophies
4 Futsal Champions League trophies
22 European Roller Hockey League trophies
First time in green numbers
“We are cleaning up the club in the shortest possible time and without compromising the ownership model. If I am president, Barça will always belong to the socios. We have not improvised. We have saved the institution from extinction, we have made the journey through the desert and we can see the end of it.
We have resisted the difficulties and we have resisted a lot. After many efforts, courageous and bold decisions, I am proud to say that after three years the club will have green operating results,” Laporta proudly announced.
Even so, Barcelona will have to pivot in order to afford to bring in some reinforcements this summer. The La Liga management is relentless in forcing clubs to strictly adhere to the salary cap.
