Romania with two ex-spartans can sink the Slovaks. The promotion group is the motivation
Two former Sparta players will represent Romania at the Euro. Nicolae Stanciu, who also shone in the jersey of Slavia Prague, and Florin Nita are on the national team’s nomination list. For the goalkeeper it will be his first big international tournament. Which roster is going to the Euros?

The Romanians have made it to the tournament after eight years, beating even the Swiss in qualifying. From the second basket, Romania will fight alongside Portugal, Slovakia and Ukraine, and they definitely have a chance to advance.
Czech league stalwarts
Two players with a history in the Czech league also made the final list. Florin Nita, after a bitter end at Sparta, is playing in the top Turkish league. At 36, he will be more of a number two, although he is a big name in Romania.
Nicolae Stancio’s position is completely different. One of the team’s captains, he was one of the biggest stars of the entire Euro qualification. He is obviously counted on in the starting line-up for the tournament, he is Romania’s biggest offensive weapon.
A regular in the domestic league, otherwise a couple of lucky
The core of the Romanian roster is made up of players from the local league. The exception is the son of a famous father, Ianis Hagi, who is hoping for a career resurgence. At 25, he is kicking around La Liga with Alavés, but he is not in the starting line-up after transferring from Rangers.
Stopper Radu Drăgușin made it to the Premier League after impressive performances in Serie A, gaining valuable experience in a Tottenham jersey. Striker and goal scorer Denis Alibec is known to Czech teams from matches with Astra Giurgiu and FCSB, now he is kicking in Qatar.
The easiest group to qualify for
In the context of the strength of all the groups in the tournament, the Romanians have a relatively good chance of advancing from at least third place. The Slovaks are at a similar level, they may have a few more players in the top leagues, but the quality difference is minimal.
Belgium is getting weaker and weaker with every championship since 2018, Ukraine on the other hand should not be underestimated. It entertained at the last Euro, its participation in the World Cup in Qatar narrowly and unluckily escaped, it embarrassed both England and Italy in the qualification of this championship.
