A beautiful game full of beautiful goals! Real Madrid draw 3:3 at home to Manchester City

The Champions League quarter-finals offered us a duel between Real Madrid and Manchester City. The paper assumptions were confirmed, both teams showed a quality performance and the fans witnessed six goals. However, the winner of the match was not known and the rematch will be interesting.

Although such a match would be more suited to a final, Real Madrid have already faced Manchester City in the quarter-finals. The predictions were more on City’s side, but a lot of bettors believed in Real, which made the odds significantly lower hours before the match.

The first chance of the match offered the very first goal. Aurelien Tchouaméni fouled in Real’s defensive half and the skillful midfielder Bernardo Silva got to the ball and showed that he has an excellent football mind.

He saw that goalkeeper Andriy Lunin was not at his best and decided to put the ball in front of him. His shot took the Ukrainian by surprise and although he was able to move, he was not in position in time and fished the ball out of the net in the second minute.

Real didn’t give up and raced for an equaliser. It came in the 12th minute when Eduardo Camavinga backheeled the ball into a defender, who surprised Ortega, who had no chance to react in time to the change in trajectory.

By the 14th minute, things were looking really good for the home side. Rodrygo dribbled from his own half into the City goal and his hacking fooled the defender, giving him time to finish.

His slow shot eventually sailed into the net and Real deservedly took the lead. We didn’t see another goal in the rest of the first half, although both teams created several promising chances. Some really attractive football was played, which an impartial fan must have enjoyed.

Real Madrid had to equalise in the second half

And in the second half we saw many beautiful goals. In the 66th minute, Phil Foden swept the crossbar with a beautiful shot, and five minutes later Joško Gvardiol responded with another beautiful shot.

This gave Manchester City the lead and it was Real who had to push forward. He was scalded after two goals, but that certainly didn’t mean he was resigned to defeat. In the 78th minute, Jude Bellingham claimed a penalty but the referee waved it away.

Real Madrid celebrated anyway, but moments later Federico Valverde shot from just outside the area and it was level. The match ended 3-3 and the rematch will be very interesting. In a match played in parallel, Arsenal drew 2-2 with Bayern at home.
