Mbappé puts thoughts of Real behind him and shoots PSG to the Champions League quarter-finals

With three goals in total, Kylian Mbappé shot PSG into the Champions League quarter-finals. In the second leg at San Sebastian (2: 1), he scored both goals for the visitors and put an end to speculation that he has his mind set on Real Madrid, where he will finally move in the summer.

The first leg, played three weeks ago, was won by Paris 2:0. Kylian Mbappé and Bradley Barcola gave them a good starting position for today’s clash. The Basques were not expected to put up much of a fight. And that was confirmed.

Mbappé, who had been speculated during the week whether he would even start, led PSG as captain in the match. Indeed, the twenty-five-year-old sharpshooter’s transfer saga has come to an end. From next season he will definitely become a Real Madrid player.

Mbappé is a professional

But the 2018 world champion is acting like a professional, which he confirmed against San Sebastian. It was Mbappé who asserted himself after Barcola failed on goalkeeper Remiro. He scored his fifth goal in this Champions League after an assist from Dembele.

The six-time French champion could also have scored for the second time moments later, but Alex Remiro was up against it. At the other end, Takefusa Kubo sent a long-range projectile, but it only flew past Donnarumma’s right-hand post.

San Sebastian’s reduction did not help
