Dallas beat San Jose in a shootout. Boston took the debacle to the Islanders

The Dallas Stars defeated the San Jose Sharks in a shootout (3:2). The New York Islanders clearly defeated the Boston Bruins (5:1).

Dallas struggled for the first two periods

Jake Oettinger was in goal for Dallas. The Sharks goal was guarded by 23-year-old Magnus Chrona, who played only his third NHL game, but still gave a very good performance.

The Stars couldn’t find the right rhythm for the first two periods. San Jose surprisingly resisted and could rely on the great catching of Chrona.

However, Filip Zadina pulled the lead back to San Jose before the end of the second period with his 9th goal of the season.

The Stars tied the game in the 5th minute of the third period. Zadina was ejected and Jason Robertson used a power play to tie the game at 2-2. No more goals were scored until the end of the period. The game was not decided in overtime. Jamie Benn, who is one of the icons of the club’s history, decided the victory for Dallas in the seventh series of shootouts.

Boston came to collect the trophy

The New York Islanders clearly outplayed the Boston Bruins (5: 1). The Islanders decided the game practically during the first period. Kyle Palmiery scored a hat trick in the first 20 minutes and the Bruins were practically finished.

Boston could only manage a 1:5 tie.

Palmieri was unanimously voted the star of the game. He added one assist to his hat trick. It was the third hat trick of his overseas career and his first since October 30, 2019.
