West Ham United are currently in a major crisis in terms of play and results. The Hammers haven’t even scored a goal in three games, now they have lost to Nottingham. Fans are already feeling this unfavourable streak very hard, even calling on the club’s management to sack David Moyes.

They were clearly in contention for the European Cup qualification places. But now West Ham are only eighth in the Premier League table, eleven points behind fifth-placed Tottenham. They are then five points behind sixth-placed Manchester United.

The Hammers are experiencing a truly brutal performance and results slump. Their last win in the English top flight was at the end of last year.

In 2024, not only have they not won, but they have drawn four times and lost four of their last eight games. for 240 minutes West Ham have failed to score, conceding eleven times.

The last time David Moyes‘ charges fell to Nottingham on Saturday they were beaten 0-2. Taiwo Awoniyi struck in stoppage time in the first half and Callum Hudson-Odoi scored the second goal in the 94th minute.

The frustration understandably falls not only on the players or the coach, but also on the fans themselves. They simply cannot bear the injury to Lucas Paqueta as the reason for so many losses and are calling for the dismissal of coach Moyes.

West Ham in crisis, how are the fans reacting?

Under West Ham’s post on the X platform, a number of comments have surfaced that disagree with coach Moyes’ statements. The latter admitted in a post-match interview that the current results are not favourable. However, he tells fans that they must also take into account the recent period when West Ham, on the contrary, have been very successful.

“Maybe they (the fans) have experienced managers who have excited them more. Maybe, but the one who is sitting here now is winning the most of all,” Moyes said, referring to the fact that he boasts the highest number of wins of any West Ham manager in history.

“We have one injured player, Newcastle had nine injured. That’s not quite the same thing, is it! Pathetic excuses, enough is enough,” writes one West Ham fan in response to the above interview.

“Let’s face it, today was as bad as last Sunday when we got beaten 0:6 by the Gunners. The team is falling apart,” says another Hammers supporter.

“How many excuses can you fit into one post-match interview? We’ve played about six good games in all this time. And the supposed poor form of Manchester City or Arsenal hasn’t even lasted seven weeks – a poor comparison,” a West Ham fan is clear.

Whether Moyes’ position will continue to be intensely addressed is a question, although it is heading that way. But the fact remains that West Ham really need to win now. Their next opportunity will come on Monday 26 February when they welcome Brentford to their ground.
