National football fans can now come into their own. Not only is the Africa Cup of Nations being played, but also the Asian Cup, which delivered one scary moment that brought back memories of the Prague Slavia duel on Rangers soil. A crazy kung-fu kick was not even recognized as a foul.

Probably none of the fans of not only Slavia but Czech football will ever forget that match. It was March 2021, and Slavia Prague showed up at Ibrox Stadium to take on Rangers not only for the win, but also to advance to the Europa League quarterfinals.

Alleged racism of Ondrej Kudela towards Glen Kamara, harsh crackdowns by Scottish footballers against players of the Slavia. It was not good at all. The worst moment ever came when Kemar Roofe hit Ondrej Kolar in the face with a high intensity kung-fu kick.

The Rangers star earned a red card for the crazy foul. The Slavia goalkeeper, of course, did not finish the match and sustained unpleasant injuries. A horrible and terrifying football moment that we definitely don’t want to see during football matches.

But now the Asian Cup offered a similar situation. Namely, in the match between Lebanon and China. A red card? No way. The referee didn’t even rule the tackle a foul.

A terrifying kung fu kick in an Asian Cup match was not even ruled a foul

It was the 13th minute of the match between Lebanon and China in the second round of the group stage of the Asian Cup. Defender Khalil Khamis kicks the ball to safety. Immediately afterwards, however, Dai Wai Tsuna hit his opponent with a kung fu kick to the face.

Whoever saw the above mentioned tackle on Ondrej Kolar must have remembered it after this shot. Fortunately, the Lebanon player didn’t hit the Chinese player with such intensity, but it is still a crazy moment.

It was downright red cardable. But the referees had a different opinion. There was no foul whistled.

It is questionable how much of a role was played by the fact that the Chinese international managed to finish the game. But moments like this shouldn’t be seen at all. And when they do, they should be punished. The safety of footballers should be the first priority.

However, the match between Lebanon and China ended in a goalless draw. Qatar now dominates Group A with six points. China is second with two points, Tajikistan and Lebanon have one point each.
