Mitchell puts 45 points in Brooklyn’s net in Paris

In the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Brooklyn Nets (111:102) game, which was unconventionally played in Paris, France, Cleveland’s top scorer Donovan Mitchell had his best performance of the season, scoring 45 points. He was also successful on the boards. He scored 12 and dished out 6 assists.

He broke the final resistance of the Brooklyn team in the last quarter, where he scored a series of four threes in a row, although he missed all six of his shot attempts in the previous passage of the game. The Nets were led by Cam Thomas and Mikal Bridges, scoring an identical 26 points each.

However, it wasn’t enough to overwhelm Cleveland’s endgame. Mitchell recorded his 16th game in a Cleveland uniform in which he scored at least 40 points. He did it in just a season and a half, following the performance of Lebron James, who spent 11 seasons with this team.

Oklahoma crushed Portland

The Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Portland Trail Blazers (139:77) ended in a very crushing victory for Oklahoma. The 62-point difference in the score is one of the largest in NBA history. The team from Oklahoma had six double-digit scorers, led mainly by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 31 points.

Josh Giddey even contributed to the Blazers’ crushing defeat with a triple-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. No one on Portland’s side managed more than 14 points. For the 21-year-old playmaker Giddey, it was his debut triple-double of the season and the 9th of his career overall. Oklahoma also knows what it’s like to lose by just a record margin. In December of 2021, they lost by 73 points to Memphis, an NBA record that still stands today.

Milwaukee finally got it right

The Milwaukee Bucks vs. Boston Celtics (135:102) was a fairly one-sided affair. The league leader from Boston pulled the short end of the stick throughout the game. Milwaukee controlled the entire game from the start.

The Bucks finally came to their senses, as they were going through a minor crisis of losing games to weaker opponents. This time, everything fell into place and they outplayed the best team in the league. So the predictions that it would be a very close and even game did not come true at all.

This time Janis Adetokunbo didn’t give a dominant performance like in the previous games. On the contrary, Milwaukee showed a beautiful collective performance, with five players scoring double-digit points and the team’s top scorer was unusually Bobby Portis, who managed to score 28 points in just 21 minutes on the floor.
