Who will you replace Salah and Son with in your fantasy team?
With the upcoming AFCON and Asian Cup on the horizon, fantasy managers are surely stressing out if they have the world class midfielders Mo Salah and Heung-Min Son locked into their teams.
Perhaps Liverpool’s Jota (£7.7m) is a name to target. After scoring in his return from injury against a struggling Burnley, he has a knack for goal and will surely get game time with the Egyptian King away in the Ivory Coast.
After a stop-start season in a team that has been inconsistent to say the least, Man United’s Alejandro Garnacho was on fire against high-flying Aston Villa. It looks like his goal-scoring form is back from the naughty corner and is a cheap option at only £4.7m.
Spurs midfield playmaker James Maddison has been out injured since a hoodoo-like day against their hated rivals Chelsea in gameweek 11. He should be back in min-Jan and seems like a bargain at £7.8m. Tottenham have missed his creative energy despite the incredible form of the left-footed genius and fan favourite Dejan Kulusevski.
If you need to get Erling Haaland back (plus squeeze in a resurgent Trent Alexander-Arnold) and don’t have enough cash to splash, John McGinn could be your man. At an astonishing £5.5m and with some tasty fixtures awaiting, he might be the cheat code for FPL addicts as they strive to win Championships.
With so many options, it’s surely a good time to make those changes with both Salah and Son seemingly slightly distracted with big tournaments on the way. Both players will be missed however, by managers who know their true value in a ruthless game that over 11 million are currently enjoying.
