NHL Stars of the Week: Kaprizov starred, Zibanejad and Kane also shined

Russian forward Kirill Kaprizov of the Minnesota Wild was voted the biggest star of the past week. The other player honored was forward Mika Zibanejad of the New York Rangers and the third star of the week was American Patrick Kane.

Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov recorded seven points on four goals and three assists in four games played. In addition to that, he decided two games in overtime. He became only the second player in franchise history to decide two games in overtime in a row.

The same feat was accomplished by Brent Burns. He was able to decide two games in a row in the same manner from March 11-13, 2007. The 2020-21 Calder Trophy winner leads the club scoring with 31 points. In addition, since his rookie season he has scored the 12th most points of any player in the NHL. He has 265 points in 235 games played.

Other honorees Mika Zibanejad and Patrick Kane

New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad also scored seven points. He also scored four goals and notched three assists. However, unlike Kirill Kaprizov, he only needed to play three games.

the 30-year-old Zibanejad is currently the Rangers’ second most productive player after Artemi Panarin. He is currently on 33 points in 32 games played.
