A great performance by Lebron James, capped by a triple-double, did not stave off a home defeat for the Lakers. Domantas Sabonis orchestrated Sacramento’s win and Detroit didn’t stave off another defeat after a lifetime night from Cade Cunningham.

Detroit Pistons 2 losses away from infamous NBA record

In the Atlanta Hawks vs Detroit Pistons (130:124), Detroit recorded its 24th consecutive defeat. And only two more defeats separate them from the infamous NBA record. That is held by the Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers, who have lost 26 games in a row in the same season. Detroit is the worst team in the league this season with a 2-25 record.

The heroic performance of Cade Cunnigham, who set a new personal best with 43 points, did not change that. He also had 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the game of his life. But it didn’t change the Pistons ‘ misery.

Domantas Sabonis orchestrated the Kings’ win

In the game Sacramento Kings vs Washington Wizards, which was rich in points (143:141), Sacramento confirmed its role as the favorite and with a 16-9 record leads the Pacific Division. De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis contributed the most to the victory. The former scored 30 points.

The son of legend Arvydas Sabonis even notched a triple-double with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. While Washington recorded its 22nd defeat and confirmed that it is one of the worst teams along with Detroit and San Antonio.

James’ triple-double was not enough for the Lakers to win

In the game Los Angeles Lakers vs New York Knicks (109:114) even the great performance of the ageless Lebron James was not enough to win. He did what he could, finishing and passing the ball effectively in a game in which he scored 25 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

He was supported by the traditional Anthony Davis with 32 points – the best scorer of the game. Of course, the Knicks players rejoiced, especially thanks to Jalen Brunson, who recently broke the 50-point mark. This time he scored 29 points and his teammate Julius Randle added 27 more.

Lebron James scored his 109th career triple-double. However, the Lakers took a bit of a hit in the traditionally stronger Western Conference, where they hold the 8th place with a 15-9 record. In their next game, the Lakers travel to Chicago and it will be a close game either way.
