Kopitar has a club record, Marchand and Panarin have a hat trick
Elite scorers were on a rampage in NHL night games and a club record was broken. Anže Kopitar became the best passer in the history of the Los Angeles Kings, Artemi Panarin scored a hat trick to help his team beat the San Jose Sharks and Bruins captain Brad Marchand shut out the Columbus Blue Jackets with a hat trick of his own.

In the Los Angeles Kings vs. Colorado Avalanche (4:1), Kings captain Anže Kopitar scored the game-winning goal. It was a pass with the serial number 758, which rewrote the club record previously held by team legend Marcel Dionne, who recorded 757 assists in 921 games played.
The Slovenian hockey player reached the milestone in his 1,313th game for the Kings. Legends such as Wayne Gretzky, Marcel Dionne, Luc Robitaille, Dave Taylor and many others played for the Los Angeles team. However, to date, no one has recorded more assists for the Kings than Kopitar.
Hattricks by Marchand and Panarin
In the game Boston Bruins vs Columbus Blue Jackets (3:1) the captain of the team again contributed to the victory. Marchand scored all of the home team’s goals, making it his 6th career hat trick.
Only David Pastrnak has scored more than that. Marchand saved his scoring performance for the third period.
He needed only 5:50 minutes to score a hat trick! The last Bruins player to score 3 goals even faster was Martin Lapointe on March 13, 2003 – 5:15 minutes.
Another hat trick was scored by the Russian in the game New York Rangers vs San Jose Sharks (6:5). He added one more assist to his three goals. For Panarin, this is his 5th hat trick overseas.
With the Russian’s 4-point performance, the New York Rangers became only the fifth team in NHL history to reach 3,000 wins. Only the Montreal Canadiens (3,536), Boston Bruins (3,373), Toronto Maple Leafs (3,116) and Detroit Red Wings (3,069) are better in this regard.
