Pittsburgh is not doing as well as it could in the current NHL season, but it is still the Penguins who are in a position to secure a playoff spot. And that’s thanks to the win they recorded against Columbus. Sidney Crosby was on a rampage for the visitors.

Fifth game and fifth win in a row! Pittsburgh’s entry into the new NHL season didn’t go as expected, but in the last five games the Penguins have won every time.

First, they blew out San Jose 10:2 and then they won in Anaheim, but this time only by two goals (2:0). Then the Penguins succeeded in Los Angeles, where they won 4:3 in overtime and took the full number of points again.

On 12 November, Pittsburgh played at home against Buffalo for the first time since the end of October. And they made the fans happy with a clear 4:0 victory. On Tuesday night, however, they took to the ice again, but this time it was a victory.

Sidney Crosby opened the scoring against Columbus, sending his team into the lead after just four minutes.

However, this situation lasted only six minutes. The Blue Jackets turned the game around in the first period and went into the locker room with a 2-1 lead.

Crosby scored the winner!

Jake Guentzel tied the game at 2:2 in the middle period, with an assist from captain Crosby.

Erik Karlsson made it 3:2 at 48:40, but Alexandre Texier tied it three minutes later. Crosby secured the victory for Pittsburgh, who sent his team back into the lead at 54:28. This time, the Penguins didn’t lose it.

Crosby completed his hat trick with an empty net goal. You can watch a video of all three goals in the video below.

Columbus is his favourite opponent, having secured fifth place in the NHL’s historical scoring table with four points against the Blue Jackets. Crosby now has 54 points (18+36) in 39 games played against Columbus.
