Premier League news: Brentford have a new Toney, do United have a natural leader in the squad?

The Manchester derby went as expected, yet several club legends took on the United players. In the 16th episode of our weekly column, which breaks down the interesting facts from the world of English football, we will also look at Wolverhampton and Brentford.

Manchester United without a captain

Wolves’ broken season

Wolverhampton confirmed their good form at home against a strong Newcastle side, mainly thanks to the synergy of the Hwang Hee-chan, Pedro Neto pairing. The latter made his return to the Premier League in style after a long injury, being the best assistant. However, he is now facing a break.

A hamstring injury is a matter of weeks, and Wolves supporters have vivid memories of what an ordeal it was last year without Neto.

Brentford’s new Toney

Brentford won for the third time since promotion to the Premier League at Chelsea, again with a big contribution from Bryan Mbeum. The Cameroonian winger scored a goal to make it 2-0, but primarily he did a heap of the black work that makes him so popular with Bees fans.

And although it was a big question before the season, Ivan Toney, who is running out a penalty for betting, is slowly being forgotten. Mbeumo is teamier, more fluent and his record of 6+2 for ten goals is more than good. From tenth place, his club is only four points behind the cup top 7.
