UFC 295 is just around the corner. Less than two weeks away and Jiri Prochazka will fight for the light heavyweight championship again. His opponent will be Alex Pereira. Ahead of the important fight, Henry Cejudo took the Moravian samurai in hand and analyzed his fighting style.
Already in the early hours of Sunday, November 12, Madison Square Garden in New York will host the UFC 295 gala, which will feature Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira in the main event.
Fans are expecting a first-class spectacle and one of the biggest and most attractive fights of the year. The reason is simple. Both fighters have been in the UFC for a short time, but they have shown a lot. Their fights are never boring, plus both of them finish their opponents on the scorecards.
Even the bookmakers don’t find it easy to pick either of them as the favorite and one can’t be surprised. This duel is simply going to be special. The Czech Republic is of course backing the Moravian samurai.
Procházka already held the light heavyweight title, but he gave it up due to injury. Now he will want to take it back. But he has to be careful. For what? That’s what Henry Cejudo, under whom BJP has trained in the past before his duel with Glover Teixeira, revealed in his analysis.
The walker needs to improve in two aspects
Henry Cejudo is not only a UFC legend. He won an Olympic gold medal in wrestling, eventually becoming a two-time UFC champion. He’s been doing a lot of tactical analysis in recent years, and now he’s taken on Moravian.
As mentioned, Jiri Prochazka has trained under Cejudo in the past. So they know each other well. That’s why Cejudo knows very well how to evaluate BJP. According to his analysis of all Prochazka’s fights in the UFC, there are mainly two things that need to be improved.
“There are two areas I feel you need to improve in. The first is your hand defense. I wouldn’t want to see Pereira hit you. It could cost you the fight against him. The second thing is your defense against takedowns. That’s still a little questionable,” Cejudo said in his analysis.
But otherwise, the UFC icon praised the Moravian fighter in several ways. It was mainly about his confidence and head setup, as well as his aggressiveness and incredible range of techniques and overall unreadability.
Among other things, Prochazka was outclassed by Cejudo in three areas. He was given the maximum score of 10 for durability. In tactics, he took a slight hit, scoring 8 points. His technique was the worst with 7 points. Overall, Procházka got 25 points out of 30 and got a B overall.
