Barcelona’s management itself is hesitant about what to do with Ansu Fati after his return from a loan spell. The Spanish player would like to fight for a place in the Barcelona lineup, everything will depend on the club’s management.

Ansu Fati made his way into the Barcelona first team in 2019 and immediately caught the attention of the footballing public. He was a very confident yet humble player for his age. Moreover, he benefited from working with Lionel Messi, beside whom Fati was able to grow and improve.

Ansu Fati was a very fast and dangerous player on the wing, as evidenced by the number of points he scored. In his first season, Fati scored seven goals. However, it must be added that the Spanish winger only jumped in during this season.

The big turning point in Fati’s career came at the end of 2020. Due to a serious knee injury, Fati missed almost a year, but unfortunately he did not return to the form he was in his early days.

Fati gradually dropped out of the lineup and once he was on the field, he often made mistakes and didn’t score goals. It all culminated in his departure on loan to Brighton.

However, even at Brighton, Fati doesn’t have the workload he imagined. Fati played only once in the Europa League. Otherwise, he’s more of a search on the pitch.

What about after the loan spell?

The Barcelona management will soon ask themselves how they will deal with Fati after his return from the loan. According to Football Espaňa, Fati is planning to return to Barcelona and fight for a place in the starting line-up. But will there be room for the young striker?

Barcelona have undergone a generational change and are starting to thrive both domestically and on the European stage. Robert Lewandowski plays at the top of the attack and is joined on the wings by João Félix. On the other side, Raphinha, Ferran Torres or the young Lamine Yamal are available. So the competition is huge.

There is media speculation about Barcelona’s interest in selling Fati. It would certainly be a welcome cash injection, but given Fati’s form, the young Spaniard won’t sell for as much as he would have sold for three years ago. The last option is to keep Fati in the squad, but that doesn’t seem too likely at the moment.
