That action had eyes, that’s how you use a power play! Montreal defeated Buffalo 3-1 on Monday night. The Canadiens finally decided the outcome of the only game the NHL had to offer in the final minutes when they made a great power play.

The Canadiens entered the game against Buffalo very well, with Justin Barron scoring after just two minutes and fifty-six seconds.

However, the 1:0 score didn’t last long as Jeff Skinner tied the game at 1:1 after just four minutes and seventeen seconds. It should be noted that it was the Sabres who used the first power play of the game.

The fans at the KeyBank Center did not see any goals in the middle part of the game, so the next goals came in the third period.

First, Brendan Gallagher scored at 43:31, assisted by David Savard and Tanner Pearson to give the lead back to Montreal.

The Canadiens, however, did not finally decide their victory until late in the third period. At the end of a beautiful power play, Pearson got the puck into the net after passes from Gallagher and Alex Newhook to give Montreal a 3-1 win.

This game did not feature any Czech players, but Slovakian Juraj Slafkovský jumped into the game. He hasn’t had much success so far, recording only one assist in the opening five games.

Montreal is climbing up the Eastern Conference table, currently in fourth place with seven points after five games. Buffalo is 15th with four points.
