Hit, sunk! Ibrahimovic spoke out about Balotelli’s wasted talent, he reacted uncompromisingly
When Zlatan Ibrahimovic says something somewhere, very few people dare to react in the way Mario Balotelli reacted to his words. The legendary Swede was just answering an innocent question, but was uncompromisingly “shot down” by the controversial Italian.
When Zlatan Ibrahimovic says something somewhere, very few people dare to react in the way Mario Balotelli reacted to his words. The legendary Swede was just answering an innocent question, but was uncompromisingly “shot down” by the controversial Italian.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic turned up in the Italian city of Trento on Sunday for the Festival dello Sport, where he faced questions from Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luigi Garland.
The Swedish legend has seen a lot in his career, played with many stars and definitely has a lot to talk about. He has covered so many topics from his playing career.
It’s worth mentioning that he shared a team with Mario Balotelli when they were together at Inter Milan. However, when he left the Italian side for Barcelona for the 2009/10 season, he missed out on the most important trophy he never managed to win in his career.
Balotelli reminded him of just that, and Ibrahimovic was less than positive about him at the festival. But it cannot be said that he was wrong.
Ibrahimovic spoke about Balotelli
“Balotelli has had many opportunities to use his talent and change his future. He never did. There are so many who want to have at least one chance, and he missed all the opportunities he had,” Ibrahimovic let slip.
The journalist tried to compare Rafael Leão, the current AC Milan star who has started to blossom alongside the Swedish legend, to Balotelli. However, Ibrahimovic nipped that in the bud: “Leão is not Balotelli. He is a genius, which explains why Leao is where he is and Balotelli is in the stands.”
The former Juventus, PSG, Inter and AC Milan player also alluded to Leo’s recent penalty, which he said only proves the Portuguese’s genius.
Balotelli reacted uncompromisingly on his Instagram when he uploaded a photo of him holding the trophy for the Champions League winners, which he dominated with Inter Milan. He then cheekily tagged Ibrahimovic in the photo.
Ibrahimovic, by the way, celebrated his 42nd birthday at the beginning of October and there is still speculation about what will happen to him next. He has already retired from a playing career during which he celebrated having collected 32 team trophies and countless individual achievements, such as the FIFA Puskás Award for the most beautiful goal of the year.
