VIDEO: You can’t make this up! Pastrnak shows another parade, this is how he beat the Nashville goalie

The Boston Bruins defeated the Nashville Predators 3:2 on Saturday night, with David Pastrnak playing a big part in the win. The star winger converted a penalty shot brilliantly, giving goalie Juuso Saros no chance at all.

David Pastrnak was clearly Boston’s biggest star last season, scoring an incredible 61 goals in the regular season. The Havířov native added 52 assists and became the third most productive player in the regular season with 113 points.

In the current season, he has scored four points in two games so far this season, with three goals and one assist.

Two points came in the last game against Nashville, when he helped his team to a 3:2 victory. The Predators took the lead in the first period, but James Van Riemsdyk tied the score at 14:48.

In the middle part of the game, at 34:46, Pastrnak sent the Bruins into the lead. He converted a penalty shot and gave goalie Juuse Saros absolutely no chance.

Pastrňák, so to speak, shocked the Saros with his finish. He chose a floorball solution, where he pulled the puck on the blade and then shot it into the upper right corner.

I wasn’t good in the gym, but on the ice it was a different story…

Pastrnak explained his unusual finish to overseas reporters in a post-game interview.

“I don’t know if you know the sport called floorball. It’s a big thing in Europe, especially here. I promised my friend that I would go to practice with him, and to be honest, I couldn’t do it. But in floorball, everybody shoots exactly like that,” Pastrňák said after the game.

“I mean, when I tried it on the surface in the gym, I couldn’t do it. It was a different story on the ice, it was much better. I didn’t have much confidence today, but it worked out in the end. I guess it helped that when you go on a solo raid in a suspended game you have time to think about everything. You have four or five options to choose from and you hope it’s the right one,” Pastrnak said.

Colton Sissons tied the game at 2:2 with his second goal of the game with three minutes and six seconds left in the second period, but Van Riemsdyk scored less than three minutes into the third period to give Boston the win.

Sissons scored his second goal of the game, again taking advantage of a power play. Pastrnak had a hand in this goal as well. This time with an assist.
