Pastrnak will be the second richest player in the NHL in the new season! Only Colorado star will earn more

David Pastrnak will be the second richest player in the NHL next year in terms of salary, only Nathan MacKinnon from Colorado will be paid more. So how much will the Czech forward earn in a Boston Bruins jersey?

Czech server NHL.cz reported on Monday morning that David Pastrňák will be the second richest player in the upcoming season of the famous Canadian-American hockey league in terms of salary.

Pastrňák has a long-term contract in Boston for eight years, until the end of the 2030/31 season.

The contract will guarantee the Havířov native a salary of $90 million. The most Pastrňák will earn in the first year of his new contract will be $13 million, of which eight and a half million will be his base salary and another four and a half million will come in bonuses.

The Czech forward will earn the same amount of money in the 2024/25 season, while his earnings will drop by half a million dollars the following year. After that, his annual income will drop again and will be on a downward trend until his contract expires.

Eventually, Pastrnak will end up at $9 million. However, thanks to the first year and earnings of 13 million, he will become the second richest player in the NHL for at least the 2023/24 season.

MacKinnon richest, Ovechkin also in the elite five

Only Nathan MacKinnon will earn more. The Avalanche star is also signed to an eight-year contract and, like Pastrnak, has a downward earnings trend.

He will take home an astronomical $16.5 million this upcoming season, by NHL standards. After that, his annual income will gradually decline until he ends up with less than ten million.

And how’s it going with the standings? Dougie Hamilton (12.6 million), Alexander Ovechkin (12.5 million) and Kirill Kaprizov and Seth Jones are third and fourth respectively.
