There were already problems with Sancho in Dortmund. But nobody will suffer him at Manchester United! What’s next for the player?
Jadon Sancho may be an excellent footballer, but his reputation precedes him and after Dortmund, Manchester United are now struggling with his morale. Erik ten Hag had to put the English winger out of the team and the question is whether the player will find his way back or go elsewhere.
Jadon Sancho may be an excellent footballer, but his reputation precedes him and after Dortmund, Manchester United are now struggling with his morale. Erik ten Hag had to put the English winger out of the team and the question is whether the player will find his way back or go elsewhere.
When Sancho moved to Old Trafford in the summer of 2021 for €85 million, everyone was looking forward to his contribution. However, it is now clear that this transfer, at least so far, has not worked out at all, like many others.
Sancho didn’t particularly shine last season either, in which he did play 41 games, but it wasn’t usually for the full 90 minutes. Moreover, he scored only 7 goals and assisted 3 times.
In the current season, he was given space by ten Hag in the opening three league games, in which he played a total of 76 minutes. However, it was no glory and then when the news came that the player was placed out of the team, many started to recall the end at Borussia.
Fabrizio Romano has now taken to his Twitter account to remind us of a situation dating back a few years, when German newspaper BILD reported that Sancho was late for training, going away for 2-3 days after a game or playing games at night, which then made him sleep deprived for training and not only for training.
In the end, however, you look at the stats and they tell you the following: 82 games in a Red Devils jersey, 12 goals scored and 6 assists. But if it’s been miserable so far from the 23-year-old winger, does he still have a future at Manchester United?
One can count on the whole situation being answered in January, when the English talent could leave for another team. Manchester United already have a lot of experience with this, having dealt with similar excesses with Cristiano Ronaldo last season.
Sancho is undoubtedly an excellent footballer, but with this approach he will slip into an increasingly inferior team until he fades into obscurity, as so many of his predecessors did.
However, a move to Saudi Arabia is also in the cards, which would very likely be the most viable route, especially for Manchester United, who could cash in an interesting sum for Sancho that 99% of the time no one in Europe will offer him.
