Well done! Czechs beat Belarus in the Women´s Nations League and are on their way to the elite

The Czechs also managed the second match of the newly established UEFA Women’s Nations League with flying colours. In Croatia, they defeated Belarus 2:1 and the promotion to the elite is again a little closer. But coach Karel Rada admitted that he was not completely satisfied with what he saw on the field.

The Czechs were the home team in the match, but it was played in Velika Gorica, Croatia. They came into it after a 2-0 win over Slovenia, against whom they also put in an excellent performance.

Although this was not the case with Belarus throughout the match, the Czech Republic took the lead after less than half an hour of the match when Kateřina Kotrčová scored for the first time.

Twenty-three-year-old Sparta Prague player was followed five minutes later by the experienced Klára Cahynová, who plays for Sevilla in Spain. She also scored against Slovenia.

After returning to the field in the second half, the reduction came. Viktorija Valjuk’s first shot was saved by Olivia Lukášová, but her next opportunity was short-lived.

In the end, however, the Czech players managed to defend the result and take another three important points in the table. This means only one thing, they are currently in the first place with six points, the second place is held by Bosnia and Herzegovina, who beat the Belarusians with the same result and drew with the Slovenes.

“Today was not quite our match. Like against Slovenia, we didn’t catch the start of the game. We couldn’t quite get into the rhythm.

But then it got better, the girls picked up, combined well and we managed to score two goals. The second half wasn’t good on our side, we just didn’t get it right today.

Nevertheless, we took three points, and that is the most valuable thing for us at the moment,” said coach Karel Rada after the match .
