A lot of music for little money! Brighton, with an eleven for only 17 million, overtook Manchester United

That Brighton is a master of business is well known. He buys cheap, he sells dear, as shown by the Seagulls’ base purchase price stats, which total just £17.5m.

The squad included five players who joined the club for free. The biggest names were Danny Welbeck with Adam Lallana. The former mentioned went through Manchester United and Arsenal, the latter won the Champions League with Liverpool.

You may know goalkeeper Jason Steele from the Sunderland Till I Die series, he has been at Brighton since 2018 but is only now catching. Lewis Dunk is an offspring of the club, and at 31 years of age, he’s getting England national team nominations.

He arrived on a free after the end of last season with Mahmoud Dahoud. The German midfielder is set to add experience in European cups, having kicked for both Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund.

A steal in broad daylight was the purchase of Joel Veltman for £0.8m from Ajax. The defensive all-rounder will play as a midfielder, a stopper and a midfielder. A million more expensive was the talent from Breda in the Netherlands, Jan Paul van Hecke.

At €2.6 million, the Seagulls’ biggest stars are perhaps the most expensive. Central midfielder Pascal Gross is in the form of his life at the age of 32, Kaoru Mitoma arrived from Kawasaki and is the star of the league after a successful loan spell in Belgium.
