The Italian top flight promises an interesting battle for the title this season. Napoli will try to defend the Scudetto, but other Italian clubs want to take the overall title.
Former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi has already spoken before the season that he believes Napoli will not be able to defend the title. AC and Inter are said to be the ones fighting for the Serie A title. And now Hernán Crespo has also commented on this topic.
He was still in both the blue and red and black jersey during his playing career. Now, the current coach of the Al-Duhail team has expressed himself quite similarly to his coaching colleague Sacchi.
“I see Inter a notch higher than the others,” Crespo said in an interview with the well-known Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I think they have a wide and competitive squad with players in all positions, while Lautaro Martinez is a phenomenal striker who is improving year by year. Simone Inzaghi has everything he needs in this team,” thinks the former Argentina international.
AC and Inter will battle it out for the Italian title!
“AC Milan will be Inter’s main rival for the Scudetto, while I imagine Napoli will struggle to keep up the pace after winning the title last season,” Crespo added.
It should be noted both Milan giants have entered the new Serie A season perfectly, having won all three opening matches. Both have nine points, with Juventus currently third on seven points.
Napoli, as the defending champions, won their first two matches, but fell to Lazio 1-2 at home in the third round of Serie A. The start of the new season suggests that the Italian league will offer a very interesting spectacle.
