Mason Greenwood has fallen on hard times in his life, but now he is slowly trying to return to football at the highest level. Manchester United have released him on loan to Spain, despite this he is being cherished.
Mason Greenwood has fallen on hard times in his life, but now he is slowly trying to return to football at the highest level. Manchester United have released him on loan to Spain, despite this he is being cherished.
He was one of England’s greatest talents of recent years, but his career was badly damaged by his behaviour in his personal life when he was charged with raping and assaulting his girlfriend. Mason Greenwood has not played for Manchester United or any other club since January 2022.
The situation was waiting to be resolved. However, the charges were dropped. Despite this, Greenwood has a tarnished reputation and will have a tough time in his career. Manchester United have been investigating the whole matter internally to assess whether they can continue to have the English footballer in their squad.
The club concluded that it would be better if Greenwood left Old Trafford for at least some time. So he headed on loan to Spain, specifically to Getafe, who seem to be trying to become the least favourite club in Europe after his arrival by provoking in various ways.
In any case, the Englishman won’t do badly in Spain. In fact, the Spanish media have revealed the terms of his loan move to Getafe. Manchester United are looking after him more than nicely.
The Red Devils are paying Greenwood a substantial part of his wages. In addition, the club has provided him with a translator who is available 24 hours a day.
To make matters worse, Manchester United got the 21-year-old footballer a luxury villa near the training facilities, paying 9,000 euros for a week’s stay.
Fans are understandably speculating that Manchester United don’t want to lose the talented player. Greenwood could thus have a place at Old Trafford next season, unless of course he catches on at Getafe.
