He has been a long time contender for a title fight, now he finally got it, but he will probably leave the Oktagon. On Wednesday night, information surfaced on social media that Robert Bryczek is headed to the UFC. What does his future look like?
When Patrik Kincl defeated Karlos Vemola, it was obvious that we had more to look forward to. The champion likes to face different challenges, he will take on any opponent. His next challenger came from the fight between Samuel Kristofich and Robert Bryczek.
Kincl had already fought the Pirate once, which is why he preferred the Polish puncher to win. And he got his wish when Bryczek became the first man ever to stop the Slovakian fighter before the limit in the first round.
The title fight Kincl vs. Bryczek was a win for Oktagon. Fans were looking forward to it, both fighters were happy, the Polish fighter was promoted by UFC legend Joanna Jedrzejczyk every now and then, moreover, these are two quality fighters.
This show of strength should have been a great show. Bryczek himself had been wanting a title fight in the Octagon for a long time, but he just couldn’t get it. Leandro Silva, Kaik Brito and Zdenek Polívka have slowed him down.
It’s not without interest that Brito fought for a UFC contract as Oktagon champion on Dana White’s Contender Series show and unfortunately failed. On the same day, it was reported that Bryczek, whom he defeated and who didn’t even become champion, would be going straight to the UFC for a change.
However, the information was shared on one of the social networks by Bryczek’s manager Amadeusz Rybica himself. He subsequently revealed to the Sport daily that he couldn’t confirm anything yet, but that contact had been made and that he wanted the deal to be finalised as soon as possible.
We are waiting for a statement from his planned opponent Patrik Kinc or Ondrej Novotny for now. However, it can be expected that neither side outside of the Polish fighter will be happy about it.
