But Pep Guardiola didn’t let him down. He trusted his ability and it paid off last season. The English footballer has become one of the key players, always bringing something extra to the Citizens game. Thanks to him, they managed to reach for the historic treble.

Grealish had already shown that he was a big partier after winning the first title, however, after winning the treble, it looked like he could easily feed off the celebrations. Photos and videos of him went around the world. We could hardly look for a bigger “party man”.

After winning the Champions League, he had a great time in Ibiza. But now the new season is here and the Citizens have reason to celebrate at the start of it. They didn’t win the FA Community Shield, but they did win the UEFA Super Cup. For the first time ever.

Time for a big celebration? Oh, no. This Saturday, Manchester City take on Newcastle in the second round of the Premier League. Even if Grealish wanted to, he’s out of luck.

“Pep has banned it. We’ll just go home tonight, eat some good food and relax. Our next game is in… What day is it, anyway? Three days. We have to recover and then the Premier League awaits us,” Goal quotes Grealish as saying.

The England international revealed, among other things, that coach Guardiola really cared a lot about the trophy: “It was incredible how clear he made it to us how much he wanted us to win this trophy. Now you can see what it means to him.”
