UFC trying to lie and rewrite history? The organization’s former champion is angry. Coincidence or intent?
And there’s another dispute. Francis Ngannou is an integral part of UFC history, but the biggest organization in the world is doing everything it can to make the former champion regret his departure. So far, to no avail. The latest development in the complicated relationship is the release of bad information that has the new PFL star offended.

The former UFC heavyweight champion is in another feud with the UFC. After leaving the organization despite a record-breaking offer, he signed with the PFL and the head of the biggest brand in the MMA world, Dana White, seems to be doing everything he can to make Francis Ngannou forget about him.
First and foremost, on the day Ngannou signed with the PFL, he announced a phenomenal card for a numbered tournament that had the potential to garner enough media attention to trump the just-mentioned signing. Of course, it’s probably unrelated, but speculation is rife.
What followed was an effort to have boxing champion Tyson Fury fight not the new PFL star, but UFC legend Jon Jones. Unsuccessfully. And now there’s another problem that Ngannou has pointed out.
On Saturday, Tafon Nchukwi went into action at the UFC event, it was his sixth fight in the organization, he’s been in the organization since 2020. When he entered the cage, the information was that he was the first and only Cameroonian fighter in UFC history.
This was noted by Ngannou, a native of Cameroon who fled to France in an attempt to make a better life. No wonder he was outraged by this information. After all, he was a UFC champion, this sort of thing shouldn’t happen.
Before Ngannou, however, Rameau fought Thierry Sokoudjou in the UFC, which the former heavyweight king also pointed out. “I was second. Don’t let them lie and erase history,” Ngannou expressed on social media.
The question is whether this is a coincidence or perhaps intentional. Coincidences and accidents can happen, however, if it was intentional, it would indeed be unbecoming behaviour in an organisation of this level.
