Ugly footage from the Russian ACA! Wrestler broke his leg in the knee and won’t see the cage for more than a year
MMA is on the rise, but there are still many who condemn the sport. They are bothered by the often nasty injuries and one of them is undoubtedly the one that occurred during the last tournament of the Russian ACA organization.
MMA is on the rise, but there are still many who condemn the sport. They are bothered by the often nasty injuries and one of them is undoubtedly the one that occurred during the last tournament of the Russian ACA organization.
MMA is, of course, full of injuries. They belong to the sport and can occur during a quiet training session or a tough fight, which is why many fighters only show up in the cage a few times a year.
Last night was the tournament of the leading Russian organization ACA 161, in which Magomedrasul Gasanov and Salamu Abdurakhmanov catered the main match.
The victory was celebrated by the first-named, who won the middleweight title. But unfortunately, the fight that preceded the main event was much more popular in the world.
Mukhamad Vakhaev and Grigoriy Ponomarev took care of it. The bout lasted just 32 and went as badly as it could have for Ponomarev.
His leg went badly and broke in the knee, just like it did recently in the Copa Libertadores when Marcelo badly stomped on his opponent.
Ponomarev lay on the ground in great pain while his opponent, apparently unaware of what had just happened, continued to fight and landed a few more big blows.
By then the referee had already reacted and, of course, stopped the fight. The twenty-eight year old fighter is now facing several months off and there is even speculation that this injury could end his career.
If he is able to make a comeback, we can expect it to start in 2025 at the earliest. He currently has a professional MMA record of 6: 3.
