Is Vaclik’s return to Spain imminent? Three second division clubs are interested, negotiations are already underway

Tomas Vaclik had a great time in Spain. But after leaving Sevilla, he didn’t build on his great years in the south of Europe. Maybe that’s why he is now negotiating a return to the Iberian Peninsula, but to the second league.

Tomáš Vaclík has already played for six clubs in his career. From Žižkov he moved to Sparta, followed by a move to Basel, then Sevilla, Olympiakos and Huddersfield.

Currently, at 34, he is without a contract and is choosing his next destination carefully. Mainly because EURO 2024 is on the agenda at the end of the season and Vaclik would like to keep his position as the number one of the national team.

Cologne from the Bundesliga was interested, but they only offered Vaclik the number two position. And that would not be ideal before the upcoming European Championship.

At the moment it looks like a return to Spain. Not to La Liga, but to the second highest competition.

According to Spanish journalist Angel García, three second division teams are interested in Vaclik. Specifically, Elche, Albacete and Cartagena.

Elche are said to be ready to sign Vaclik immediately if they sell number one Edgar Badíu to Rayo Vallecano. However, the Czech goalkeeper is already in contact with Cartagena.

Fans of all three clubs would warmly welcome the arrival of the experienced goalkeeper, Vaclik has made a good name for himself in Spain during his three seasons at Sevilla.
