Brazilian side São Paulo can look forward to the arrival of an experienced footballer who is returning to his homeland. Lucas Moura has signed for the club for the time being until the end of this year.

The Brazilian club thus brings in a second high-profile reinforcement with plenty of experience from Europe. They recently announced the arrival of Colombian footballer James Rodríguez, who joined the club as a free agent.

The second reinforcement didn’t wait long and it will be Lucas Moura, who has been available for free since the end of his contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

The now 30-year-old winger was considered a huge talent at the time, as evidenced by the amount of money PSG paid for him when they brought the fast-footed footballer from Brazil to Europe.

The amount was already up to €40 million at the time. However, it could be said that his performances remained below expectations most of the time and he never fulfilled his potential 100%.

Lucas Moura spent six years in the French capital, and the most successful seasons individually would be 2015-2016 and 2016-2017, during which he scored 32 goals from a total of 109 games played.

He won 15 trophies during his entire tenure. These are also the only trophies he has managed to win so far during his professional career.

A move to London followed in 2018. Specifically, to the white part of the English capital, where he donned the Tottenham Hotspur jersey.

During this engagement, he was close to winning two more trophies. The most valuable one he could have won in 2019, when the Roosters reached the final thanks to a sensational turnaround of the semi-final match against Ajax.

Lucas Moura was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick. He scored the decisive and advancing goal in the sixth minute of set time.

Lucas is now returning to where his footballing journey began. He has signed a contract with his parent club until the end of 2023.
