Ousmane Dembélé may be moving to his native country very soon. PSG is very interested in him and is expected to pay Barcelona 50 million euros. The player has reportedly already agreed to the transfer.
Dembélé has become another example of Borussia Dortmund’s ability to make money quickly. After one season at Rennes, when he recorded a 12+5 record, Borussia bought him for €35 million, Dembélé flashed a 10+17 record in the yellow and black jersey and attracted the interest of even bigger clubs.
Barcelona came with an offer, Dortmund at first didn’t want to let their star go, whereupon Dembélé didn’t show up for training to force the transfer. Borussia eventually took advantage of Barcelona’s spendthrift era and “shot” the Frenchman for 135 million euros. In one year, they made 100 million euros on Dembélé.
And now there’s a transfer again. While Dembélé could have left last year, after the end of his five-year contract it looked like he was going to PSG, the Frenchman reportedly had no interest in staying in Catalonia.
However, Xavi came in, under whom Dembélé finally started to do better and decided to extend his contract. However, a transfer to Paris is likely to come after all.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Dembélé has agreed to move to the Parisian big club and his agent has already agreed a five-year contract with PSG. The French champion’s management is now trying to complete the transfer with Barcelona.
The total amount of the transfer is expected to be 50 million euros. Barcelona didn’t do so well with this transfer, much more was expected from Dembélé, but frequent injuries have put a lot of brakes on his career at Camp Nou.
When he was healthy in the last two seasons, he showed signs of brilliance. It just never lasted long. So, at 26, he’ll try his luck at home in France.
