Inter Milan have agreed a deal to transfer goalkeeper Sommer from Bayern Munich, according to recent Italian media reports. This is because the Nerazzurri sold their current number one goalkeeper Onana, who left for Manchester United for just under €53 million in July this year.
So it is understandable that for the new season the Milanese big club was looking for a replacement, which they most likely found in Bayern Munich.
According to Sky Sport Germany, the San Siro side have agreed a deal with the Bavarian giant for his transfer, with the transfer fee expected to be around €4 million, plus another one to two million in subsequent bonuses.
It should be added, according to Transfermarkt, the market value of the thirty-four-year-old Swiss is just that €5 million.
However, as also simultaneously described by Italian site Calciomercato, Inter are looking for one more goalkeeper. In fact, the Nerazzurri have parted ways with Samir Handanovic in addition to Onana.
There are reportedly two main names on Inter’s list of potential reinforcements at the moment. Namely, Italian goalkeeper Emil Audero from Sampdoria Genoa, while Ukrainian Anatoliy Trubin from Shakhtar could also be a solution for the goalkeeper position.
Sommer at Bayern…
The Swiss international transferred to Bayern back in January this year from Borussia Mönchengladbach for nine million euros.
Since then, he has played a total of 25 competitive matches for Bayern, scored 31 goals and recorded 8 clean sheets. And although he has only been in Bavaria for a short time, he has won his only Bundesliga title so far.
