700 million euros for one season. That’s how Al-Hilal’s offer for Kylian Mbappé sounded. To put it in context, at PSG he receives 60 million euros per season, Messi in MLS receives about 55 million euros per year and Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia receives 200 million euros per season.
To make the comparison even more massive, one of the best basketball players in history, LeBron James, earned around 530 million euros over his career. And Mbappé could have 700 million euros in just one year in Saudi Arabia.
This offer would have turned many an athlete’s head. However, even one of the NBA’s best basketball players, Giannis Antetokounmpo, took to Al-Hilal’s Twitter account to offer to come in Mbappé’s place, as he looks similar.
But the Frenchman was not moved by the offer. Representatives of Al-Hilal came to Paris to present Mbappe with their project and present their offer, only that the 24-year-old forward refused to meet with the representatives and does not want to negotiate anything, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.
According to the PSG management, he is said to be already agreed with Real Madrid and does not want to move anywhere else. Those were his words two years ago when he said he was happy in Paris, but if he left elsewhere, it would be to Madrid.
Now, however, Mbappé’s future is on the table again. PSG’s management are waiting for Real Madrid to send them an offer, but the royal club are reportedly waiting for the Parisians to get in touch first.
Mbappé is currently out of the squad, he hasn’t flown to Japan for the tour and is preparing with the discarded players. On August 1, he is expected to get the loyalty bonus that Mbappé reportedly stood for and after that, the ice could move.
