Eduard Sale is already a player of the Seattle Krakens organization. A few weeks after the draft, he signed a rookie contract and became the second Czech after Jakub Dvorak to sign with an NHL team this summer.

A year ago, Sale was projected to be a top ten pick in the draft, some even saw him in the top three. That’s how much talent was in him.

But he was hurt by a less than stellar season in the Extraleague. Salé decided to stay in Kometa instead of going overseas, but his first year among adults didn’t go so well, scoring 14 points (7+7) in 49 games.

So it was a question of where Sale would fall in the draft. In the end, he stopped at No. 20 and became the highest-ranked Czech in this year’s draft. The young forward was selected by the Seattle Kraken.

Although Seattle hasn’t officially confirmed it yet, according to Cap Friendly, a reputable site that covers contracts and salary caps, he is signed. Sale has signed a three-year, $955,000 rookie contract.

The Komets forward is expected to play next season in the OHL with the Barrie Colts. Sale was the highest Czech pick in the draft, but he didn’t get the contract first.

A day earlier, defenseman Jakub Dvorak, who was selected 54th overall by Los Angeles, was the third highest Czech in the draft.

the 18-year-old back is still uncertain about his future and there is also a possibility that he could stay in Liberec for another year.
